Our headlights are a complete sealed unit, not a replacement bulb in a halogen unit. The rules are very clear in the DVSA manual.
Our lamps are totally acceptable. Any MOT centre that says otherwise needs to read their manual properly.
The reason for the change in law is that an LED bulb in a halogen unit can affect the beam pattern so it is right to outlaw this.
Our units are an LED sealed unit from the factory that have defined and tested legal beam patterns.
Our LED Lotus Excel headlamp kit comes complete with 2 LED lamps and bowls.
They offer a significant lighting improvement over the standard headlamps giving fantastic vision at night.
Colour Temp 6000K
The LED lamps are DOT, SAE, 'E' mark approved (and stamped) and legal on the road and have a flat beam pattern which passes both right and left hand drive MOT tests or similar.
The lamps have a simple plug and play connector for easy fitment.
The headlamp pod does require some modification (hole needs opening out to fit replacement bowl) and the existing plate does require removal.
