Lotus Esprit is a sports car that was built by Lotus at their Hethel factory in Norfolk, UK with sales starting in 1976. It was among the first of designer Giugiaro's polygonal "folded paper" designs.
Later restyles by Peter Stevens, Julien Thompson and finally Russell Carr kept the Esprit in buyers minds until Esprit production ended in February 2004 after a 28-year production run with the final V8. A total of 10,675 Esprits were produced.
