ESPRIT 2.2 S4 S4s S300 & GT3 ('93-99)

ESPRIT S4, S4s, SPORT 300 & GT3

A further refresh of the Esprit in 1993 by Julian Thompson saw the introduction of the Esprit S4 with the same 264bhp engine as the SE but with  power steering. The Sport 300 was a homologation special allowing Lotus to race the Esprit in Sportscar racing (including at Le Mans 24). Just 64 road going Sport 300 were produced. The S4s had a revised 910 engine with 285bhp and new split rim Oz Futura alloy wheels and rear spoiler first seen on the Sport 300. The GT3 was the last of the 4 cylinder cars using the 2.0 chargecooled 920 engine designed for the Italian market.
