ESPRIT 2.2 NA, CARB TURBO & SE - ENGINE
1987 saw a comprehensive re-design of the Esprit by Peter Stevens (project code X180).The Esprit 2.2 NA had a 180bhp HC naturally aspirated engine earlier seen in the last of the Giugiaro Esprit HC and Excel SE cars. The more powerful Esprit 2.2 Carburettor Turbo had 215bhp.The SE and SE Highwing were the first chargecooled 2.2 Esprit's offering 264bhp.
